The Demonstrans leave Suvarnabhum

The People’s Alliance for Democracy (PAD) officially returned Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang airports to authorities on Wednesday morning after its supporters occupied the compounds and halted their operations for about a week.

The PAD officially ended its anti-government protests at 10am Wednesday while many supporters were starting to pack up and leave both airports. The group previously arranged activities to celebrate the Constitution Court’s verdict to dissolve the People Power party (PPP) together with its two coalition partners, Chart Thai and Matchimathipataya, for election fraud. Airports of Thailand (AOT) acting director Serirat Prasutanond on Wednesday led media and security members to inspect the terminals of Suvarnabhumi to determine when the airport can fully resume its operation.
